What is the Rethinking Economics Campaigning and Organising Training?
The Campaigning and Organising Training teaches participants all the fundamental skills you will need to build up your Rethinking Economics group, campaign at your university and develop your members into change-makers. Who is this training for? This training is only open to members of the Rethinking Economics network and will be most useful to those in local groups or if you support local groups to grow as part of another role in RE. It will be most useful to join with other members of your group so please invite them! The training assumes your group is up and running and you've chosen to focus on campaigning and will not discuss how to run events or popular education projects in your Local Group. What will I learn by being part of the training? Over six sessions, from 29th March to 3rd May, the Campaigning and Organising Training will cover the following subjects: Base Building Campaign Strategy Power Mapping Tactics & Escalation Framing Negotiation and Evaluation This will be followed by mentoring opportunities to help you develop and deliver a campaign at your institution.Is this there anything I need to prepare for the training? There will be some reading and homework prior each session. We do ask you to come ready to ask questions and to get involved! Please bring a notepad with you. The sessions will be recorded for evaluation purposes so please email if you don't want to be recorded. Rethinking Economics International is committed to ensuring that everyone in its Network is able to attend its training and events regardless of their access to the internet. The Leadership and Training Programme will take place between 14:00 UTC and 16:00 UTC [what time is that for me?] every Wednesday from 29th March - 3rd May on Zoom. These sessions have limited spaces and we really only want you to sign up if you are able to attend all six sessions. If you are not able to commit to all the sessions then you could be taking the place of another Rethinker so please do consider that before signing up. Is there a deadline to apply? Yes, please ensure that you complete this form by 13th March 2023. The deadline for this training has been extended to 20th March. You should hear back from us by the 16th March. What if I would like to take part but can't attend the sessions? If you can't attend at those dates, get in touch anyway by emailing [email protected] and we can try and make alternative arrangements.
